It is hard to believe that our 10th anniversary FemFest is about to wrap up. You still have a chance to catch some amazing shows in our final two days. Tonight Empty will premiere at 7pm followed by a special reading from Vancouver based playwrights Jordan Hall at 8:15pm and the final performance of Johanna Nutter’s My Pregnant Brother at 9pm. People have been loving Johanna’s touching and powerful story.
On Saturday you can catch the second showing of Empty at 2pm and the last showing of Immigration Stories at 7pm. Our final performance in the Shorts series plays at 8:15pm and then you can join us for our closing cabaret hosted by Chrissy Troy and featuring Jolene Bailie and Flo at 9pm.
Although the festival will wrap up on Saturday night, Empty will be touring to community venues and high schools for two more weeks. You can join us for a special performance at Winnipeg Harvest (1085 Winnipeg Ave) on September 25th at 11:45am. Bring a tin for the bin. We will also be doing a special performance for youth agencies on October 4th at 8pm at Graffiti Gallery (109 Higgins Ave).
