February has been a busy month for our team at Sarasvàti. Our newest staff member Fawnda Neckoway has jumped in with both feet to prepare for the show in May. This well anticipated experience shares the stories of over 70 Indigenous youth and their view of reconciliation. Songide’ewin is set to include a promenade featuring artwork created by youth participants. It will be followed by a stage performance composed of the youth’s stories and compiled by playwright Jo McDonald and collaborator Darla Contois. The show will be directed by well-known theatre artist Tracey Nepinak. We will conclude every performance by hosting a gathering to provide the opportunity for dialogue while feasting on traditional food. We welcome you join Sarasvàti Productions as we continue to encourage our community’s youth to participate in a conversation about Reconciliation.

Six outdoor performances are scheduled to take place at the Forks in Winnipeg as follows:

Thursday, May 21st 2020 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Friday, May 22nd at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
