FemFest 2016: Transformation

FemFest continues to be Canada’s primary festival for female playwrights. Highlights from the festival include touring shows from across the country and the world premire of The Seduction Theory by Sherry MacDonald (winner of last year’s Bake-Off).

High School Tour
October 11 to December 9, 2016

We heard so many powerful stories from youth as part of our larger mental health project that a separate script was created for high schools. The play is an interactive experience, allowing youth to find solutions to the issues of anxiety, depression, overdiagnosis and stigma.

International Women’s Week Cabaret of Monologues: Starting Over

Community Tour in Various Venues

This annual event to celebrate International Women’s Week will be dedicated to telling the stories of life-changing moments and the experiences of newcomers to Canada. Monologues from playwrights across Canada as well as pieces created with partner community groups, will be featured in community performances at various locations.

Breaking Through

World Premiere – May 23-28, 2017

This is the culmination of a community-based project entitled Mental Health is Everyone’s Health. Workshops and research included work with almost 400 people. The production explores multiple perspectives and experiences of mental health.
