We are excited to share the plans for our 2016/17 season! As announced at our recent season launch, this year’s theme is Transformation. Performances will explore moments of change, new beginnings and transforming perspectives. We know that our artists will explore new perspectives, and we hope that audiences will also be inspired by the work.

We will kick the season off with FemFest 2016: Transformation from September 17 to 24. Get all the details on our festival webpage. With touring shows, a world premiere, short readings, workshops…there is truly something for everyone!
From October 11 to December 9 we will tour high schools with an interactive new play entitled Shattered. The script is the result of mental health workshops and interviews with youth. The play will not only spark dialogue but will also have students participate in finding solutions to the problems of stereotypes, stigma, overmedicating and feeling alone.
Our annual International Women’s Week Cabaret of Monologues will continue this season under the title Starting Over. We will be collecting stories of new beginnings, with a focus on newcomer experiences. We will again offer the work to community groups and venues and perform the full line-up on March 11th.
The season will wrap up with the world premiere of Breaking Through in May 2017. This piece is the culmination of our Mental Health is Everyone’s Health initiative, in partnership with Red Threads Playback Theatre and Artists in Healthcare Manitoba.
Of course we will also be offering an array of skill-based workshops for emerging artists and fun fundraising events!
