Sunday, 22 April 2012For the 10th anniversary of FemFest, we are trying a new initiative inspired by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Paula Vogel. If you are a female playwright who will be in Winnipeg for the first two weeks of September this is a great chance to give yourself a deadline to write a new play and have it publicly read.

Sunday, 09 October 2011With FemFest 2011 wrapped up, we are already looking towards next year. Are you a female playwright with a script you’ve been longing to see produced? Are you part of a music or dance troupe that would fit our cabaret? FemFest 2012: Staging Identity will take place in September 2012 and we are seeking submissions for a November 30, 2011 deadline.

Friday, 30 September 2011Another festival has wrapped up and we are already planning our 10th anniversary of FemFest for the fall of 2012. We want to know what you thought of this year’s festival. If you didn’t attend, let us know why. It is our goal to showcase amazing work by women playwrights to a wide array of audiences so we are constantly striving to make the festival more accessible and enjoyable for our audiences. Monday, 19 September 2011We are sorry to announce that Kelley Jo Burke has suffered a serious injury and as a result cannot travel to FemFest. The performances of Ducks on the Moon have been canceled as well as her How To Turn True Stories Into Performance workshop. The Wednesday, September 21st performance at 9pm will be replaced by another presentation of Magpie. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. We were very much looking forward to hosting Kelley Jo and knew audiences would love her piece. We wish her a speedy and full recovery. Anyone with tickets can either exchange them for another show or receive a refund from our box office. Please contact 586-2236 for more information.
